We have worked for and with some of the most renowned investment firms in the United States. We formed Boston Mountain Money Management, Inc., in early 2007 to meet the need for professional investment counsel in Northwest Arkansas.

Our most important skills are listening and judgment. Listening to clients is essential to developing investment strategies; judgment is required when investing our clients’ assets. We have developed these qualities throughout our professional careers.

We have nearly 30 years combined experience in the investment industry analyzing and selecting stocks for institutional investors − the large investment managers and mutual fund companies. We have both been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation after passing a rigorous three-year exam, which we believe demonstrates our commitment to ethics and excellence in investment management.

Scott Alaniz, CFA, has 16 years of professional investment experience. After graduation from the University of Arkansas, he joined Stephens, Inc., in Little Rock as an investment analyst. Scott spent over 12 years at Stephens with responsibility for analyzing companies in the manufacturing, financial, and service industries. Scott then joined SAMCO in Dallas, TX, a boutique investment bank renowned for their work with Texas community banks. In 2004, Scott joined Sandler O'Neill and Partners of New York, one of the nation's premier investment banks serving financial institutions. Scott was responsible for maintaining investment recommendations on community banks in the Southwest and Southeast. Before returning to NWA Scott spoke regularly to bank directors, CEO's, lawyers, accountants, and investors on the state of Texas banking industry at conferences and in boardrooms. In early 2006, Scott and his family returned home to Northwest Arkansas because of an untimely illness of a family member. He served as a portfolio manager for local investment firm Greenwood & Associates, Inc. before forming Boston Mountain Money Management, Inc.

Scott is a native of Northwest Arkansas having grown up in Greenland, AR. His wife Dianna is from Springdale and provides nutrition and wellness counseling for individuals. They have three daughters – Kara, Erin, and Sophie. Scott and Dianna attend Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. Scott's interests are traditional archery, fly-fishing, and American military history.

Joe Chumbler, CFA, has over 16 years of investment experience. In 1991 he joined Crews & Associates, Inc. where he worked with many of the largest banks and trust companies in Chicago and developed expertise in municipal, corporate, and government bonds. In 1997, Joe went to work for the equity research department at Stephens, Inc. as a research analyst. As an analyst at Stephens, his job was to value stocks and make appropriate buy/sell recommendations based upon his analysis of various industries and companies. He served as a portfolio manager for local investment firm Greenwood & Associates, Inc. before forming Boston Mountain Money Management, Inc.

Joe grew up in Little Rock and earned his bachelors degree in Finance and Economics from Baylor University in 1989, and his MBA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1993. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1999. He lives with his wife Lori and son Nicholas in Rogers, Arkansas, where he enjoys cycling and fishing.
